Working with Beard Construction, Tusker Industrial Safety was appointed to manufacture and install two bespoke acoustic welding booths as part of a major workshop refurbishment project. The brief called for a robust, permanent welding solution combining sound-reducing wall systems with flexible welding protection and practical access across the booth frontages.
The workshop required dedicated welding areas to be created within a large operational space. The installation needed to clearly define each welding bay while maintaining efficient access for personnel and equipment, and integrate safely with the newly refurbished floor and existing building structure.
The challenge
The installation needed to achieve several objectives simultaneously:
- Create two dedicated welding work areas.
- Provide acoustic separation between welding activities and the surrounding workshop.
- Deliver effective visual screening for welding operations.
- Maintain wide, unobstructed access to each booth.
- Provide a durable, professional finish suitable for a demanding industrial environment.
Our solution
Tusker designed, manufactured and installed two bespoke acoustic welding booths featuring modular sound-reducing wall panels, sliding transparent welding-strip frontages and a durable floor-mounted steel support system. The installation provides flexible access, effective welding screening and a permanent, professional workshop solution.
KEY DESIGN POINT
The completed system is floor-supported and mechanically anchored.
The booth structure is self-supporting at working height and does not rely on the building’s roof or high-level structural steel for suspension.
Installation methodology
The works were planned and delivered under project-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) controls.
Before installation, the team completed site induction, confirmed access and welfare arrangements, reviewed the work area and marked out booth positions against the approved layout.
Project outcome
A clean, robust and highly practical welding-bay installation delivered for a demanding industrial workshop environment. Delivered in collaboration with Beard Construction, this project demonstrates Tusker Industrial Safety’s ability to deliver bespoke welding-bay solutions from technical design and manufacture through to installation, commissioning and final operational checks.

- Sliding transparent welding-strip frontage system
- 300 × 2 mm, approximately 1,920 mm drop strip size
