Riverside College, Kingsway Campus, in Widnes, recently undertook a programme of renewing and upgrading their welding facilities. As part of this initiative, we successfully delivered the installation of new welding bays through our distributor, General Welding. The project was completed to specification, with minimal disruption to the college.
Scope of Works:
- Installation of three welding bays against an existing brick wall.
- Fixing of four powder-coated stanchions at 8 ft height.
- Side curtains installed with plastic hooks for static positioning (not for regular entry).
- Front curtains installed on wheeled curtain track with gliding trolley wheels for access.
- All components securely fixed to level concrete floor and brick wall.
Challenges & Solutions:
- The existing brick wall in some areas was aged and required special resin anchors to ensure long-term secure fixing.
- This was the only notable challenge; all other work proceeded smoothly.
