Welding curtain system with bespoke suspension

FULLY BESPOKE SUSPENSION SYSTEM FOR APEX ROOF

Based in Ashford, Kent, Sunray Doors (an ASSA ABLOY Group Company) design and manufacture high specification steel security doors to protect commercial and industrial premises throughout the UK.

We were approached by Sunray Doors to design and supply a welding screen system in their manufacturing facility.  This project came with significant challenges to overcome – notably that the system could not be floor mounted due to the requirement to move machinery.  This requirement was hampered with the inability to intall a standard ceiling mounted system, as the the facility has an apex roof containing asbestos.

We identified voids above concrete beams in the ceiling that could be utilised for housing specially designed brackets, without the need to disturb the asbestos-containing elements of the ceiling.  We designed the bracket, and accompanying hanging system to withstand a 1 tonne load, using aluminium beam construction.

With the design of the custom hanging system, we were able to suspend our Tusker galvanised steel hanging system, finished with 300mm amber welding strip curtain.

SOLUTION

Fully bespoke designed aluminium ceiling hanging system, utilising voids in existing concrete beams.  Tusker track with 300mm amber welding strip curtain (conforms to EN25980/2023).  Installation by the dedicated Tusker install team.
